Functional Link provides individualized care and participation support for children and older adults who may benefit from a provider with experience adapting activities, environments, routines, and supports to fit the person.
Community Participation Support is a specialized service offered by Functional Link Occupational Therapy designed to provide tailored care and support to individuals who have unique needs, fostering a sense of inclusion, independence, and engagement within their community.
This service offers support for caregivers while ensuring that individuals with specialized requirements receive the highest quality care in a community-based setting.
Unlike home health agencies providing pediatric private duty nursing or home health aide services, Community Participation Support is specifically designed to address the complex sensory, emotional, and adaptive functioning challenges that families may experience.
Older Adult Community & Participation Support provides individualized companionship and practical support that helps older adults remain active, connected, and engaged in the routines, relationships, and activities that matter to them.
Services may include community outings, social and leisure participation, errands, accompaniment to appointments or activities, support with routines and organization, technology assistance, engagement in hobbies and meaningful activities, and strategies that promote continued independence and participation at home and in the community.
Youth Community Participation Support helps children and teens build confidence, independence, and connection through meaningful activities at home and in the community.
Support may include social participation, recreation and leisure, community outings, life skills, organization and routines, self-advocacy, practicing independence, exploring interests, and developing strategies to navigate everyday environments more successfully.
Special Event Participation Support provides individualized assistance so children, teens, adults, and older adults can more fully participate in events and experiences that matter to them.
Support may include preparation before the event, transportation or arrival support, navigating unfamiliar environments, sensory and regulation strategies, communication assistance, mobility and accessibility support, social participation, activity modification, personal routines, problem-solving, and support with transitions throughout the event.
Services can be tailored for festivals, concerts, weddings, community events, camps, conferences, celebrations, recreational activities, and other special occasions.
Sensory Processing and Regulation:
Providers are highly trained and able to identify sensory triggers, implement sensory integration techniques, and help clients learn to self-regulate their sensory responses.
Emotional Regulation:
Specialized interventions are designed to assist clients in managing emotions, reducing frustration, and enhancing their ability to cope with challenging situations.
Adaptive Functioning:
Incorporates purposeful activities that promote fine motor skills, communication, social engagement, and other adaptive skills required for active participation in daily activities and community interactions.
Individualized Interventions:
Therapeutic plans are uniquely tailored to each client’s strengths, challenges, and developmental needs, ensuring that they receive personalized support to achieve their goals.
Holistic Family Support:
